This is a unique opportunity to own a rare, classic Herreshoff which offers the very best compromise between speed and spacious living spaces. I recently had the opportunity to sail on her and she is an absolute dream! Engines run smoothly and quietly, sails and rigging are all in excellent condition and she is as sweet as can be. As of March 30th, she recently completed a week in dry dock having bottom paint re-done and new zincs. Her original owner was a WWII Naval Aviator and a recipient of the Distinguished Navy Cross. Current owner has sailed her extensively in the Hawaiian isalnds and to hte Palmyra Atoll and back with no problems. With a beautiful lay-out, she sleeps six comfortably in three cabins with crew quarters for two forward of the V-berth. She is a solid open water cruiser that can reach up to 10 knots. She is spacious and comfotable and handles very well in heavy weather. L. Francis Herreshoff's designs are marked by clean, sweeping lines and a simplicity of hull and rig that show that they have been drawn by a true artist. In each design, he strips away every non-essential and leaves the true elements of a masterpiece. His father, Nathanael G. Herreshoff, had the same genius, but whereas the work of the father emphasized engineering perfection, the work of the son emphasized artistic perfection. There are simply not many Herreshoffs of this size on the market. No changes have been made to the original interior apart from updating stove, etc. Exterior received all new rigging in 2004 including a Harkin rolling furler and new sails. There are currently numerous new parts, including a new windlass and new jib sail. The fuel system was also redone with new injector pump. She has been lovingly cared for by her current owner who has ensured monthly service checks as well as haul outs and full services every other year. The interior woodwork is in beautiful condition. The older style electronics are all in good working condition. She has sailed from Florida to California up to Vancouver then to Hawaii and around Palmyra in the South Pacific, proving herself a very comfortable seaworthy vessel.Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to own such a fabulous boat in paradise!Make an Offer!!!Please submit any and ALL offers - your offer may be accepted!
